When I was growing up I obsessively planned my back to school shopping list, and kept an insanely organized closet.
I studied magazines all Summer long for ideas on fresh trends for the coming year, carefully curating a new style for the new me. It started in second grade. I was determined to accessorize my looks with a purse and coordinated shoes each day, no matter how ridiculous my teacher thought I was.
In High School I had notebooks filled with options of every conceivable combination of denim and corduroy matched with various tops and sweaters. When I tired of my own selection, I marched over to my best friend’s houses and invaded their closets, arranging and rearranging, leaving behind lists with detailed instruction.
I suppose I’ve been gunning for a stylist position all along, eager to share my point of view.
I have an opinion, always have, about how things should be. I don’t really mull it over much, I just sort of know right off- Love it or hate it. Hideous or gorgeous. Sad or magical. Obvious or innovative. Old or new, etc.
So…now I’m officially styling!!! And it’s just as amazing and satisfying as I always imagined it to be. I’m thankful to get the chance to work with such beautiful clothes and talented people.
I hope you like it as much as I do!
